About Us
In My Own Words is built on the belief that stories define us. They reveal who we are, where we’ve been, and who we might become.
This project is driven by a pragmatic and analytical minds, a deep curiosity about history, society, and human nature, and an unwavering belief in the power of connection. Whether through challenging conversations, moments of laughter, or hard-earned wisdom, this space exists to bring voices forward – not to excuse, but to understand.
At the heart of this is a commitment to clarity, accountability, and growth – both personal and collective. There is humor, because life demands it, and realism, because sugarcoating the truth does no one any favors. There is also a strong sense of purpose: to guide, to learn, and to create something meaningful in the process.
This site is not just about those who have served time, but also about the families, the employers, the people affected along the way. It is about second chances, failures, and the reality that we are all just human.
This is a space for stories – for those willing to tell them and those willing to listen.
About Me

Ed:
I believe in second chances. We are the sum of our experiences – the good, the bad, and everything in between. What defines us is not just where we’ve been, but the stories we choose to tell.
Storytelling is an art, a skill, and a way to make sense of the world. Too often, the voices of those who have stumbled are drowned out by judgment, rather than heard with understanding. In My Own Words exists to change that.
Professionally, I’ve been in IT since the late 20th century, much of it spent as a project manager. Personally, I am many things – a thinker, a skeptic, a believer in growth. Most importantly, I’m a father.
This project is built on the idea that no one is just their worst moment. The past shapes us, but it doesn’t have to define us.
